Recent reports from SPORT BILD indicate that Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen has emerged as a potential candidate for the right-back position at Real Madrid.

It has been suggested that the defender’s name was brought up internally, although it appears that Real Madrid have chosen not to pursue a right-back at this time.

The outlet mentions that the 23-year-old sees Real Madrid as his top destination, even preferring them over clubs in the Premier League.

Earlier this year, there were discussions between the two clubs during the spring and summer transfer windows. At that time, Real Madrid decided against signing a right-back.

Frimpong had an exit clause that would allow him to transfer for a fee of €40 million, which remains valid until the summer of 2025, but it does not apply for a January transfer.

Should a transfer occur in January, the fee would be negotiable, and Bayer Leverkusen would need to approve any deal.

It has been suggested that Frimpong has made it clear Real Madrid is his dream club. However, the current situation suggests that Real Madrid will not be pursuing a new right-back.

The management believes that the position is adequately filled by Lucas Vazquez, who can step up when needed. Additionally, Eder Militao has shown versatility and can also play in this role if the need arises.

Dani Carvajal’s injury has created some gaps in the squad, leading to discussions about whether a replacement is necessary. While the manager may feel the need for another player, the management seems to have a different perspective on the situation.

As January approaches, it will become clearer whether Real Madrid will make any moves to strengthen their right-back position. Until then, the club remains focused on its current squad and the potential contributions of existing players.
