Paris Saint-Germain were interested in Dean Huijsen last summer as part of a wider defensive rebuild, but the Spanish center-back ended up signing with AFC Bournemouth instead. If PSG circle back, they won’t be alone.

Even after adding Willian Pacho, the club could still be in the market for another center-back, especially with Milan Skriniar expected to leave for good this summer.

CaughtOffside reports that several top clubs—including Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and PSG—are all keeping a close eye on the 19-year-old.

Huijsen has turned heads in the Premier League, quickly emerging as one of the most promising young defenders in Europe. If PSG do make another push, they’ll be battling stiff competition—and a high price.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool rate Huijsen so highly that they view him as a future leader and a natural successor to Virgil van Dijk. He has a £50 million release clause in his Bournemouth contract.

What’s the latest on Dean Huijsen?

TalkSPORT reports that Bournemouth expect to lose Huijsen this summer, but the 20-year-old is leaning toward staying in the Premier League rather than making a move to Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.

Fichajes reports that Real Madrid are eyeing a strategic move ahead of the summer transfer window: parting ways with David Alaba to clear salary space and help fund a potential deal for Dean Huijsen.

The club reportedly feels it’s time to refresh the back line and view the Bournemouth defender as a long-term investment. But with Huijsen’s high buyout clause, Madrid will likely need to move Alaba first.

Alaba, 32, has been a key part of the squad since arriving in 2021, but ongoing injury problems and a hefty salary—over €20 million per season—are pushing him closer to the exit. According to Fichajes, Madrid see his wages as unsustainable if they want to stay competitive in the market this summer.
