Vinicius Jr. has recently been honored with the Globe Soccer Best Men’s Player Award, further cementing his status as a legend within Real Madrid.

His stellar performance throughout 2024, despite failing to yield a Ballon d’Or, has now given him the FIFA BEST and now the Globe Soccer accolades.

Contract negotiation on the horizon?

In light of Vinicius’ recent triumph, Diario AS suggests Real Madrid are poised to start negotiating a new contract with Vinicius Jr. next summer, as his current deal is set to expire in 2027.

This move comes at a critical time as the Brazilian forward will enter the last two years of his contract, a juncture at which Real Madrid typically acts to secure their strategic players’ futures.

The interest from Saudi football, particularly from Al Ahli, adds an intriguing layer to these negotiations.

Despite an earlier attempt to lure Vinicius with what was described as the best contract in sports history, Real Madrid stood firm, citing the player’s €1 billion release clause.

However, the allure of the Saudi Pro League persists, with offers aimed at making Vinicius the face of their ambitious project leading up to the 2034 World Cup.

Vinicius eyeing a Galactico salary

The renewal of Vinicius will be far from straightforward, though.

As per the report, Vinicius and his agent, Frederico Pena, have their sights set on a salary that aligns with Real Madrid’s top earners, particularly aiming to match or come close to the figures commanded by Kylian Mbappe.

Given Vinicius’s pivotal role in the team’s recent successes and his undeniable impact on the pitch, there’s a strong case for his salary to reflect that of a ‘Galactico’.

His previous contract, signed in October 2023, significantly increased his earnings but still left him behind the likes of Kroos and Alaba in terms of net salary.

With his current contract situation and the ongoing interest from Saudi clubs, Vinicius is positioned to negotiate for a compensation package worthy of his contributions and market value.
