Luka Modric, according to a recent report from MARCA, is seeing more playing time this season compared to last year and has no intention of retiring anytime soon.

The Croatian midfielder is also considering continuing his career with both Real Madrid and his national team, Croatia. Despite his age, he has maintained a significant role at the club and international level, showing no signs of slowing down.

It must be noted that this season, Modric has featured in all 15 games he has been eligible to play, including starting in the European Super Cup and completing the full 90 minutes in Croatia’s Nations League victory over Scotland.

Interestingly, in a season where he was supposed to have a secondary role, his playing time has actually increased, and his importance to the team continues to grow.

Carlo Ancelotti seems to rely on Modric whenever the team needs a spark of creativity, bringing him on to influence the game when necessary.

Modric is going strong

Physically, Modric feels strong, and his performance on the pitch remains at a high level. Every season, there is speculation that it could be his last, especially with his contract renewal always on the horizon, but he seems determined to prove those doubters wrong.

In La Liga alone, he has already clocked 483 minutes, which is 200 more than he had at the same point last year.

He has also started three full matches and featured in various Champions League and Super Cup games, as well as representing Croatia in several international fixtures.

What is most impressive about Modric is that he continues to contribute to both Real Madrid and Croatia with his energy, work ethic, and footballing skills. The Croatian midfielder shows no signs of an imminent end to his illustrious career.
