Since the start of this year, FC Barcelona have paid a lot of emphasis on ensuring the long-term continuity of some of their most important players. Thus, they have successfully renewed the contracts of players like Ronald Araujo, Gavi, Pedri, Pau Cubarsi, and Inigo Martinez.
Meanwhile, there are some contracts that still remain to be addressed, and one of the folders that the Catalans would want to address with the highest priority is that of Lamine Yamal.
The young winger is set to turn 18 years of age in a few months, and at that time, he will be able to sign a long-term contract with the Blaugrana club. He had already signed his first professional contract back in 2022, but that agreement was limited to 3 years, as longer contracts are not permitted by FIFA for players under the age of 18.
However, in that contract, a clause was included which provided for an automatic extension of his contract for three more years, with amounts already agreed at that time.
But these figures have now been outdated because of the massive explosion that Yamal has had in the last two years, and as a result, the Catalan club and Yamal’s agent, Jorge Mendes, have decided to draft a completely new contract.

SPORT has provided some details of this new contract, which aims to shield the brightest talent to emerge from La Masia since Lionel Messi. The report claims that it will remain in force till 2030, when Yamal will turn 23 years old and thus, Barcelona will ensure his presence in their team for the most crucial phase of his development.
While his salary and release clause have not yet been revealed, these aspects will reflect the player’s development in the last few years and his position in the Blaugrana team.
Furthermore, the Catalans will also have the fair play margin to register this new contract, as La Liga has introduced a new clause that allows renewals of players under the age of 24 years even without the required FFP margin. Yamal meets the criteria of having spent the last three consecutive seasons at Barcelona, and thus, this renewal is practically closed.
