Noah Okafor’s future at AC Milan seems to be in more doubt now than ever before, with a Bundesliga side having opened talks.
About four months have passed since Milan 2-2 Torino in the first game of the season, when Okafor scored what is to date his only goal this season. He had starts and minutes under Paulo Fonseca, though the coaching change to Sergio Conceicao cleans the slate for everyone.
According to what is being reported by Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, RB Leipzig have opened talks to sign Okafor from Milan as a new striker, and they have begun their pursuit quite strongly.
Discussions are underway with ‘positive feelings’ that a deal can be reached, which clearly shows a willingness on Milan’s side to evaluate the sale of the Swiss international after just 18 months at the club.
It must be noted that Okafor is still back in Italy having been sidelined by a calf injury, though he should be back in the next few days and thus it is unlikely that it would impact a potential departure.
Reports prior to this had suggested that the 24-year-old can now be considered a player that is ‘absolutely transferable’ in the eyes of the Milan directors.
