Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Destiny Udogie have all returned to training and are available for selection before United’s visit.

Vicario fractured his ankle in the win over Manchester City on November 23, which forced him to miss more than two months of action.

He is expected to start between the sticks against the Red Devils.

Maddison and Udogie suffered calf and hamstring injuries but are in contention to feature on Sunday.

This news will be a major relief for Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, who has been under fire after disappointing cup exits and lacklustre league performances.

United are in a precarious position under manager Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese has guided United to the next round of the FA Cup and Europa League..

They are in dire need of a turnaround, having slipped to 13th in the league. Their hopes of a top-four finish are remote.

Amorim will be aware that Spurs are a tough side to beat when they play at their best. The London outfit have defeated United twice this season.

The Red Devils were thrashed 3-0 in front of the Old Trafford crowd when Erik ten Hag was in charge of the club.

Postecoglou got the better of Amorim when Tottenham knocked United out of the League Cup in December.

Maddison will bring creativity to the side and could form a threatening partnership with Mathys Tel.

United must focus on improving as the fans will want them to take revenge for the previous two defeats.
