Several top six Bundesliga clubs interested in RB Leipzig’s Eljif Elmas | OneFootball

Bild reports that RB Leipzig flop Eljif Elmas could still have a career in the Bundesliga, with several clubs interested in the North Macedonian international.

Leipzig have yet to receive any concrete approaches for Elmas, but it is said that several clubs in the current top six of the Bundesliga made contact with the 25-year-old just before Christmas.

Elmas will likely lave Leipzig in the winter as they want to get rid of him as he has only played six times for Leipzig this season, all appearances off of the bench. A loan with an option to buy is a possibility, as is a direct transfer. The Saxony side want to reduce their losses on the €24m that they spent on the midfielder last winter.

Of the current top six, there are three clubs where a move for Elmas would make sense. Bayer Leverkusen would allow the midfielder to play behind the striker, next to Florian Wirtz and add more depth to that position. At Borussia Dortmund, Elmas would help lessen the impact of their ongoing injury issues.

While an ambitious move by Mainz could also be an option, the Carnival club have been able to revive the career of Nadiem Amiri, could the same happen for Elmas?
