An insight into the respective chances of arch rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid going all the way in La Liga this season has on Monday come to the fore online.

This of course comes fresh off a weekend which saw the former extend their advantage atop the standings in Spain’s top-flight.

First, on Saturday, Real Madrid slipped to a shock 2-1 defeat at the hands of relegation-battling Valencia.

And as much was followed by Barcelona battling their way to a point courtesy of a 1-1 stalemate with Manuel Pellegrini’s Real Betis.

Hansi Flick’s troops, in turn, have opened up a four-point lead at the table’s summit, with eight games to play.

And if the latest word doing the rounds online on Monday is anything to go by, then this advantage, based on the stats, is looking increasingly likely to be an unassailable one.

As per statisticians Opta, Barcelona now boast an 85.2% chance of winning La Liga this season.

The Blaugrana are followed by Real Madrid with a 12.4% chance, and Atlético Madrid at 2.4%.
