Bayern Munich chiefs have been busy with contract negotiations over the last few months. They managed to extend the contracts of Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, and Jamal Musiala. All three players are crucial to the team’s short-term and long-term plans.

Bayern had also decided to keep more experience in the squad by extending the contract of Manuel Neuer. The German goalkeeper signed a one-year extension earlier this season. The Bavarian club is also looking to keep Eric Dier for one more year.

Thomas Muller is another player who is facing uncertainty around his future at Bayern. The Bavarian club is interested in keeping the experienced German forward for next season. However, the latest update from Germany suggests talks between all parties have not led to an agreement.

According to Bild’s Christian Falk, Muller is expected to leave Bayern at the end of the season. The German forward held two rounds of contract talks during the international break. As things stand, Muller will not sign a new deal and bring an end to his illustrious career with Die Roten.

It remains to be seen if Muller will retire from club football. The German forward has previously insisted that he wants to play at the top level until 2025. A move away from Europe may materialize for Muller if he wants to extend his playing career.

Muller has not played regularly this season. Vincent Kompany rates his experience crucial for the squad, but he has largely been used as an option from the bench, which is understandable since Muller is not at the peak of his career.

The Bavarian faithful will hope that Muller gets a fitting farewell. If Bayern can manage to win the Champions League at Allianz Arena, it would be a perfect end to Muller’s time at the club.

Bayern expected to complete the remainder of contract talks in next few weeks

The Bavarian club will work on getting clarity on the future of the two players in the coming weeks. Eric Dier is reportedly holding talks with the club. The English defender is interested in extending his stay, which suggests a breakthrough in talks will come sooner rather than later.

Bayern also have to clarify the future of Leroy Sane. The German winger wants to stay in Bavaria, but the club chiefs are not sure about offering a new deal. If negotiations don’t materialize in April, Sane will end up leaving Munich on a free transfer in the summer transfer window.
