Before our final home match of the 2024/25 season, we have said farewell to three players: Janis Blaswich, Maximiliano Caufriez and Daouda Guindo. The departing players were – with the exception of Guindo, who was out ill today – given a fond farewell at the Rapid match at the Red Bull Arena today.
The goalkeeper joined us in summer 2024 on loan from RB Leipzig and replaced the injured Alex Schlager at the start of the season. The German, who received a call-up to his national team during his time with us, made 22 competitive appearances for our Red Bulls - keeping eight clean sheets. We would like to thank Janis for his efforts and wish him all the very best!
The solid centre-back joined our Red Bulls from Clermont Foot in the winter, also on loan. The Belgian made five appearances (four in the league and one in the cup) only for injury to curtail his end of the season. Nonetheless, we have to say Merci, Max!
Daouda left his homeland of Mali to join us in Salzburg in 2021 and showed his talent first at our co-operation partners of FC Liefering (23 appearances, two goals and one assist) as well as on loan to FC St. Gallen. The left-back made 48 appearances for our Red Bulls, scoring two goals and providing two assists. Unfortunately, he could not make it in person to the final home match before his contract runs out due to illness - so we would like to extend our thanks for all his efforts during his time with us. All the best for your future, Daouda!
