It is now official that Torino have been unable to complete the sale of midfielder Ivan Ilic to Spartak Moscow, missing out on €22m plus bonuses.
The agreement had practically been reached between the two clubs, with the player also seemingly accepting the personal terms during the January transfer window.
As the Russian market continued for three more weeks, it was believed they had plenty of time to finalise the move.

Over the last few days, it has become increasingly obvious that Spartak Moscow had changed their mind and would not be going through with the deal.
That is now official, because the Russian transfer deadline passed and Ilic has not been signed.
Torino had been hoping to pocket the €22m plus bonuses for the sale and are now stuck with a player who was left out of their Serie A squad list.
Ilic had made just 12 Serie A appearances this season, scoring one goal, plus one in the Coppa Italia.
