Tottenham have hit a grim milestone, slumping to a record 20th league defeat in what's now officially their worst-ever Premier League season.
Eberechi Eze struck twice for Crystal Palace to earn the FA Cup finalists a 2-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, leaving Spurs stuck in 17th place with their poor domestic form showing no signs of improvement.
It’s a new low for Tottenham, who have now suffered more defeats than in any other Premier League campaign, having previously lost 19 games in both 1993-94 and 2003-04.
To pile on the misery, West Ham’s win at Old Trafford saw Spurs drop further down the table. While their Premier League status for next season is already secure, it’s still a bruising blow to their pride.
One silver lining is their upcoming Europa League final against Manchester United on 21 May, after easing past Bodo/Glimt 5-1 on aggregate last Thursday.
