Two Barcelona stars completed 97% of their passes vs Benfica | OneFootball

Two members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona were responsible for hugely impressive passing stats during the club’s latest outing.

The pair in question? Jules Koundé, and Frenkie de Jong.

Barcelona of course marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming Benfica to Catalunya’s capital for a Champions League Last-16 clash.

When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a 3-1 result (4-1 on aggregate) to cruise through to the competition’s quarter-finals.

And whilst it is the likes of Raphinha and Lamine Yamal who have since stolen the headlines, also responsible for fine individual performances were the aforementioned Koundé, and De Jong.

Featuring from the off in their respective berths at right-back and in midfield, the pair, particularly in possession, were superb.

In fact, between them, Koundé and De Jong misplaced only four passes over the course of the 90 minutes.

As per statisticians Sofascore, the former completed 58 of his 60 passes (97%) against Benfica, with De Jong having found his man with 76 of his 78 attempted passes (97%).
