The Red Bull Football Academy has begun the new year with an international success! The first edition of the Bull’s Cups in Brazil saw a total of ten teams travel from across the world, and it was the U16 side of our co-operation partners who triumphed in the final against FC Santos. Amar Selimovic and Nico Berger turned the game around for our boys after they had fallen behind.
The Young Bulls also swept the individual honours at the four-day football festival at the Performance and Development Center (CPD) in Atibaia! Teo Hupfauf received the trophy for the best goalkeeper from Julio Cesar, while captain Filip Aleksic was honoured as Player of the Tournament.
Our young teams will be back in action at the weekend as the ÖFB Youth Leagues restart after the winter break. Both the U16 and U15 sides go into the second half of the season as league leaders. Only the U18 have ground to make up - six points behind with a game in hand - when it resumes on Sunday.
Home match against the league leaders - get your tickets for the clash against SK Sturm on Sunday!
Our U20w side took a 2-0 home win two weeks ago against Neulengbach as the Future League resumed. This Sunday (2 March), the team coached by Isabella Schweighofer face a battle for the league lead at SKN St. Pölten at 13:30.
Our U16w are currently preparing before the league resumes at the end of March.
