Valencia fans take aim Real Madrid star Vinícius with Ballon d’Or insults | OneFootball

The home crowd in attendance at Valencia’s meeting with Real Madrid have this evening made use of the opportunity to take aim at Vinícius Jr.

This of course comes after the Brazilian international missed out on the Ballon d’Or in drama-filled circumstances back in October.

So unhappy were those behind the scenes in Spain’s capital with Manchester City star Rodri being crowned, in fact, that they went on to boycott the ceremony entirely.

In their side’s first meeting with Real Madrid since, the Valencia faithful have therefore felt it only right to poke fun at Vinícius.

First, chants of ‘Vinicius, Balón de playa (beach ball)’ were heard booming out around Mestalla:

Then, a number of banners and posters showcasing a beach ball photoshopped in place of the Ballon d’Or in the hands of the winger were spotted:

And Valencia have since had the better of things on the pitch, too, leading by a goal to nil owing to a strike on the part of Hugo Duro just shy of the half-hour mark.
