Dusan Vlahovic returned to the starting lineup and the stat sheet after a couple of months versus Cagliari, relieving Randal Kolo Muani who had quickly supplanted him after joining Juventus. Thiago Motta will keep relying on both down the stretch, perhaps simultaneously. However, the future of the Serb will most likely be away from Turin, TuttoSport informs.
The marksman had the chance to move to Saudi Arabia in January. José Mourinho is trying to lure him to Fenerbahce now. The Turkish team would be able to guarantee his €12M salary. However, the courtship of the Special One hasn’t broken through. The center-forward prefers more alluring destinations. In particular, he wants a move to the Premier League, where his wages wouldn’t be too cumbersome.
Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli had stated that he’d touch base with the Vlahovic camp in February, but it hasn’t happened yet. There don’t seem to be the premises for an agreement. The director had proposed a new four-year contract with an €8/9M annual salary, therefore with a fairly sizeable pay cut, but the offer was rebuffed.
The talks haven’t continued afterward. The 25-year-old has recorded 14 goals and 2 assists in 31 matches this campaign.
Even though Kolo Muani is on loan, the Bianconeri probably wouldn’t have signed a top-notch striker and would have settled for a deputy in January if they thought they had good chances of keeping their no.9 long-term. They can play together in a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2 with the right midfield. However, they have so many good wingers that it’d be hard to exclude three of them each time.
