Paris Saint-Germain have received a boost, eight days ahead of their UEFA Champions League tie against Liverpool with Warren Zaïre-Emery (18) returning to first-team training.
Zaïre-Emery has been out of action since suffering an ankle sprain during PSG’s Champions League win over VfB Stuttgart (4-1) at the end of January. In his absence, Les Parisiens have continued their recent scintillating form, remaining unbeaten in Ligue 1, whilst also dispatching Stade Brestois with ease (10-0 on aggregate) in their Champions League play-off.
However, important, season-defining games are coming up. Zaïre-Emery looks set to play a part in them. The France international has been stepping up his efforts as he nears a return. Having trained individually in recent days, AFP understands that on Tuesday, he returned to first-team training.
There is a chance that the academy product could feature in PSG’s matchday squad to face Stade Briochin in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France on Wednesday, whilst – more importantly – there is now hope that he will play a part against Liverpool in the Champions League next week.
