West Ham host Newcastle United in the Premier League on Monday night.
After a stuttering start, West Ham have shown improvement under new head coach Graham Potter and are aiming to complete a league double over Newcastle.
Though still 16th in the table, the Hammers have a 16-point buffer from the relegation places and should avoid any concerns over their top-flight status. Lucas Paqueta is set to return on Monday night and Vladimir Coufal should also be available. Michail Antonio, Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville remain out.
Newcastle are aiming to avoid a third consecutive loss. The Magpies have been hit by injuries of late and lost at Liverpool before exiting the FA Cup against Brighton. However, a win will move Eddie Howe’s side level on points with fifth-placed Manchester City.
Anthony Gordon begins a three-match ban that will rule him out of next weekend’s Carabao Cup final against Liverpool. Sven Botman is also facing eight weeks out, while Lewis Hall will miss the remainder of the season with a foot issue.

Back-to-back wins have lifted the mood at the London Stadium. West Ham upset Arsenal at the Emirates last month, before beating Leicester City comfortably in the capital. Jarrod Bowen’s return has been a big boost and the Hammers can now begin preparations for another Premier League campaign. The target for the run-in will be improvement under Graham Potter as he gets to grip with the squad he inherited in January.
West Ham are seeking a third consecutive Premier League win for the first time since December 2023.

Newcastle have dropped to ninth in the Premier League table but a win tonight will take the Magpies back into the top six. It’s a congested chase for Champions League qualification, with only seven points currently separating Newcastle from third-placed Nottingham Forest.
However, Eddie Howe will hope his injury-hit side can end their inconsistent form. It’s three defeats in the last four for Newcastle in all competitions, a run that included last weekend’s FA Cup exit.
Clean sheets have been an issue of late. Newcastle are five without a shut-out and have conceded at least two goals in all of those fixtures.
Newcastle United 0-2 West Ham, 25th November 2024, Premier League
West Ham upset the form book to ease the building pressure on Julen Lopetegui. The Spaniard had won just three of his opening 11 games before an impressive victory at St James’ Park in November.
Newcastle were the better side for much of the contest but West Ham took their chances in clinical fashion. Tomas Soucek opened the scoring with a header from a set piece, before the visitors dug deep defensively. After weathering pressure from the home side, Aaron Wan-Bissaka scored his first West Ham goal to seal the points.
