When Trent Alexander-Arnold will return to Liverpool training

Liverpool suffered their worst phase of the season last week.
First, they were knocked out of the Champions League round of 16 by Paris Saint-Germain on a penalty shoot-out, and then four days later, suffered a 2-1 defeat against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
The Reds can still end the season on a high by winning the Premier League. Liverpool are leading Arsenal by 12 points, and unless they suffer a dramatic collapse in the final nine games, they should be winning the title for the second time in five years.
The international break has come at the best possible time for Liverpool. The players need a breather from the hectic club football schedule, and injured players can use this time to recover quickly.
Joe Gomez had surgery on his hamstring injury, and he is unlikely to return anytime soon. Slot will be anxiously waiting for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Conor Bradley to return to training at the earliest, as he lacks enough cover in the right-back areas.
Alexander-Arnold picked up an ankle injury during Liverpool’s loss against PSG, and there is still no definite timescale on the vice-captain’s return.
According to journalist Lewis Steele of the Daily Mail, Alexander-Arnold hopes to play again in April. He will not be ruled out for the rest of the season and could return in mid-next month.
He will not miss a lot of games due to the two-week international break, so his injury will rule him out for a matter of weeks rather than months.
Bradley is apparently “frustrated” with the latest setback, and his return after the international break is not imminent.
Alexander-Arnold is one of three players, along with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, who will be out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season.
As of now, there is no indication that the local boy from Liverpool will sign a new contract at the club. He apparently wants to join Real Madrid, and his future remains unclear.
Nevertheless, the news will come as a big relief for Liverpool (and the fans). They can expect Alexander-Arnold to return shortly after the international break and that he can play a huge role in helping Liverpool win the title.
