Wins, records and trophies: Simone Inzaghi's 200th game in the dugout

Inter Milan
·11 mars 2025
It was a special evening as the Nerazzurri made it to the Champions League quarter-final. Inter knocked out Feyenoord and advanced in Europe's premier competition. It was also a special night for Simone Inzaghi in particular as he reached the milestone of 200 games as head coach of Inter. It's an impressive figure, which we should certainly delve into a little deeper.
Simone Inzaghi is only the fifth coach in Inter history to take charge of 200 games since Serie A became a round robin tournament (1929/30). The man from Piacenza has joined a list with some illustrious names: Helenio Herrera, Roberto Mancini, Giovanni Trapattoni and Eugenio Bersellini.
This stat gets even more impressive when you look at win rates. Inzaghi has won 133 games as Inter boss; only Herrera (205) and Mancini (176) have won more. Furthermore, among the coaches with more than five matches in charge of the Club, Inzaghi has the highest win rate in the Club's history in all competitions.
Furthermore, taking only the Italian top flight into account (and all the coaches with at least 38 appearances in the dugout), Inzaghi has the second-highest points-per-game average in the three-points-per-win era.
(More than five games in charge)
(At least 38 Serie A games in charge; considering all to be 3 points per win)
Since his arrival at the Club in the summer of 2021, Inter have had amazing success. With Inzaghi in charge, the Nerazzurri have won three Supercoppa Italiana titles (2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24), two Coppa Italia titles (2021/22, 2022/23) and the Club's unforgettable Scudetto win in 2023/24, which saw Inter claim their Second Star. In total, Simone Inzaghi has coached Inter to six trophies: only Helenio Herrera and Roberto Mancini won more during their time at the Club (7 apiece).
Our final stat focuses on Inter's performance in European football. Simone Inzaghi has coached Inter in more European matches (39) and recorded more wins (23) than any other coach in the history of the European Cup/Champions League. The record for number of wins was previously held by Heleno Herrera: the mastermind behind the Grande Inter side, however, still has the best win rate in the competition (62.5%), with Inter in second on 58.97%.
