Reports linking Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid are increasing following the news that current Real head coach Carlo Ancelotti is close to completing his move to Brazil, according to SportBild.

As per the report, it’s only a “matter of hours” before Ancelotti’s move to the Brazil national team is confirmed. The 65-year-old is looking at a trophyless season, having most recently lost to FC Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey final.

Ancelotti has won two Champions League titles, among other La Liga titles, since joining in 2021. However, it now seems that his time is naturally coming to an end, and the Brazil national team will be his next destination.

With this in mind, there is only one person’s name being linked with the vacant Real Madrid job: Xabi Alonso.

Reports in Spain suggest that “Xabi Alonso expects news” very soon. For Alonso, the opportunity to manage Real will most likely be too good to turn down.

His achievements at B04 may never be beaten in World football, certainly within the top of European football. Having fallen short of their expectations this season, now could be the time to move on to a new challenge.
