Real Madrid made their way to the Copa del Rey final as they beat Real Sociedad 5-4 on aggregate after a very tense second leg of the semi-final tie. The last night’s match ended in a 4-4 draw in extra-time, and the Merengues advanced to the final as they had a 1-0 advantage from the first leg.

Although the team he put on the pitch for this game was still highly competitive, Carlo Ancelotti still made several changes to his starting lineup for this game.

The most notable of these changes was the absence of Kylian Mbappe, as the young Brazilian striker Endrick started in his stead with his two Brazilian teammates, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, in attack.

The striker got his first chance to showcase his abilities only 5 minutes into the game, but his shot after a well-worked Real Madrid attack went well wide of the goal.

He then got another chance two minutes later, as he was able to win a duel with a Real Sociedad defender, and took an acrobatic bicycle kick, that would have been a wonderful goal had it gone into the back of the net, that again went wide.

Endrick continued to link well with the Los Blancos attack, and his moment of glory came around 30 minutes into the game.

Vinicius Junior put in an exquisite ball in his path and the youngster won his race with the La Reale defender to get the ball at the edge of the opposition box. He then cooly lobbed the ball over the goalkeeper and scored the first goal for the Merengues and equalised the scores.

He did not have many notable moments in the second half before he was subbed out in the 66th minute for Kylian Mbappe.

However, in these 66 minutes, he not only scored a beautiful goal but also made a case for himself for more minutes going forward with his overall performance.

According to Sofascore statistics, he completed 17 of his 21 total passes in this game, registering an 81% passing success rate. He also put in 2 key passes and both of his 2 attempted long balls were accurate.

There is no doubt that he has not gotten as many opportunities to shine on the pitch this season as he would have wanted. But hopefully, with this impressive performance, he will be able to get more game time with Real Madrid going forward and help his team win some trophies at the end of this season.
