This FC Barcelona team is filled with young players who are performing beyond their years. Players like Lamine Yamal, Gavi, Pau Cubarsí, etc. are all quite young, with most of their age counterparts still playing in various youth levels.
The defender Pau Cubarsí is one of the youngest even in this crop of young players, but he has already established himself as a regular starter in the Blaugrana team for more than a year now.
As was the case under Xavi, he continues to be an undisputed starter in defense under Hansi Flick, and between these two managers, he has already accumulated 55 first-team appearances.
His performances and regularity make him look older than he actually is, and an idea about the extent of his youth can be obtained from the fact that he is still residing at La Masia. According to SPORT, this aspect of his life is not expected to change in the coming days either, despite him having turned 18 years old a few days ago.
For now, the Spanish defender is planning to continue his stay at the Oriol Tort Training Centre till the end of this season. After that, he, along with his family, will make a decision about his future residence. Although he will be fully autonomous by that time, his continuity at La Masia beyond that point is also an option.
Coming back to him being an autonomous adult, another factor, in addition to his age, that shows that he is going to be an independent adult soon is his passing of the theoretical exam to obtain a driving license.
Now, the 18-year-old Barcelona defender will have to clear a practical exam, after which he will get his driving license, an achievement that will allow him to come to training from greater distances if he decides to move out of La Masia.
