18-year-old Barcelona player continues to gain Hansi Flick’s trust | OneFootball

Many young players have gradually seen themselves find opportunities at Barcelona this season. Due to the club’s limited resources, they have been unable to sign new players and have thus had to rely on their own youth. Fortunately for the youngsters of Barcelona, this has given them a great window of opportunity.

In fact, Hansi Flick has even given many new faces a chance this season. New debutants have emerged this season and a lot of promising talents have shown what they have to offer. Through their emergence and the tactical genius of the new coach, Barcelona have even looked quite strong this season.

However, not every player has received the same kind of opportunities or prominence. One such player was Hector Fort, the 18-year-old Spanish fullback who seemed to have lost a lot of prominence this season as compared to his previous campaign under the guidance of Xavi Hernandez.

Yet, instead of giving up entirely, the player has continuously worked to gain Hansi Flick’s trust. Fortunately for him, it seems to have worked out in his favor. As highlighted by SPORT, with each passing game, Fort looks to be gradually gaining Flick’s trust and attention more and more with every little step.

Having featured to some extent in the last four consecutive games, Fort’s fortunes at the club are beginning to change for the better. Up until the game against Valladolid, a match that Barcelona won in convincing fashion, it seemed that Fort could up losing all prominence altogether.

However, after the full-time whistle of that particular game, Hansi Flick made a certain endearing gesture towards Hector Fort. A hug that showcased a coach who understood his player’s frustrations, and he has been much more willing to offer him more chances since that game. Since then, his minutes have definitely increased, but so has his overall confidence.

Fortunately for Fort, he is a player who is able to offer his services both as a left and right-back as well. While Gerard Martin may be the preferred option to replace Alejandro Balde if needed, Fort remains the perfect option for Jules Kounde to be replaced by if the opportunity on that flank ever comes up as well.
