One 26-year-old Chelsea player has been praised today for his leadership qualities and as a result, has also been nicknamed ‘uncle’ by the players.

I guess this just shows how Chelsea are going about their business right now and their squad build when a 26-year-old is seen as one of the more senior figures, or at least senior enough to be called ‘uncle’.

EXCLUSIVE!! Chelsea held an internal recruitment meeting on Sunday to make a decision on new signing this month!

Chelsea sign young players only right now and don’t appear to see any value in older and more experienced heads which let’s face it, is just completely odd.

But Tosin Adarabioyo is apparently one of the more senior heads in the dressing room right now, offering that leadership and motivation to the players. So much so that they now call him uncle.

After he scored two goals to help Chelsea beat Morecambe on Saturday, it comes as no surprise to see The Athletic making the most of that to put out an article praising him.

They claim that Sources close to the Chelsea dressing room say that Tosin Adarabioyo’s elder statesman role has already earned him the affectionate nickname of ‘Uncle’.

The report also says Adarabioyo chose to join Chelsea over several clubs last summer because he felt his voice/leadership qualities could make the biggest impact at Stamford Bridge. His influence is apparently growing.

I think Tosin is a decent player, especially due to the fact we got him as a free agent. He’s never going to be the best defender at the club, but I do believe he can hold his own in terms of ability. The leadership qualities are an added bonus.

He may well end up being sold in the summer anyway with the amount of apparent new centre backs Chelsea are being linked with.
