Fichajes has reported that Arsenal are going to go all out to sign a striker in the summer transfer window. They have been keeping tabs on Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig in the last two transfer windows. The Gunners wanted to sign him last summer, but he chose to stay at Leipzig. Now, the Spanish outlet has reported that Mikel Arteta’s side are ready to spend €100 million to sign Sesko in the summer.
The Gunners desperately need a striker given that Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus haven’t been in their top form this season. They need someone to complement Bukayo Saka and be reliable in front of the goal week and out. The club had been linked to a number of strikers, but Sesko has always been their priority number one.
The Leipzig man is a towering 6’5″ striker known for his prolific goal-scoring in the Bundesliga, where he’s netted an impressive number of goals at just 21 years old. His physical presence, combined with surprising agility for his size, allows him to be both a traditional target man and a dynamic forward capable of dribbling past defenders.

Sesko’s ability to shoot with both feet and his aerial prowess make him a versatile threat. Arsenal’s interest stems from their need for a reliable, long-term striker option amidst injuries and inconsistent performances from current forwards. His potential to grow under Mikel Arteta’s guidance is a significant draw. So, the Gunners are absolutely right in trying to sign him.
Sesko has scored 9 goals in 21 matches so far in the Bundesliga 2024/2025 season. Overall, his goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.53. Moreover, Sesko’s total G/A (goals + assists) is 12 for this season. His goal involvement equates to 0.7 per 90 minutes. His non-penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.50.
The Leipzig man will definitely be happy to play for a big club in the Premier League and might be interested in making the switch to the Emirates Stadium. Moreover, €100 million is a good enough transfer fee for the player, and it does not look like RB Leipzig will reject such a transfer fee from Arsenal. Chelsea are also competing for his services, but Arsenal’s determination and insistence to sign him might help Leipzig make the maximum profit from his sale.
