Despite recent speculation linking Ferran Torres with a sensational €50 million move to Aston Villa, a new report from Mundo Deportivo has firmly shut down the rumours.

Sources close to the Premier League side have categorically denied any active negotiations for the Barcelona forward, branding the supposed price tag as “greatly exaggerated”.

In England, the buzz surrounding Ferran’s future had intensified. Reports suggested that Unai Emery’s side, under the influence of sporting director Monchi, were preparing a massive bid to lure the Spanish international to Villa Park.

While the club does reportedly admire the 25-year-old’s abilities, insiders insist that there has never been any concrete move, certainly not at the price being quoted.

From Aston Villa’s perspective, Ferran is a talented player who fits the technical profile they value, but not to the extent of breaking the bank. The €50 million figure, they argue, is simply unrealistic for their current transfer plans, even if he has been on their radar in the past.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are under no pressure to part with Ferran, especially under Hansi Flick. The German manager has already identified him as a key asset for the 2024/25 season, particularly in the role of a false nine.

His trust in Ferran was evident in the Copa del Rey campaign, where the forward shone brightly, finishing as the competition’s top scorer with six goals. That performance didn’t just win Barcelona the trophy; it cemented his place in Flick’s plans moving forward.

Ferran himself has no intention of leaving. The player is said to be settled in Barcelona and eager to fight for his place under the new regime.

Having turned things around with his strong performances last season, he is now viewed internally as the natural successor to Robert Lewandowski whenever the Polish striker is unavailable.
