Atalanta wingback Davide Zappacosta feels that Inter Milan are “one of the 3-4 best teams in Europe” and Federico Dimarco will be “a big miss” for the Nerazzurri.
The former Chelsea and Torino wingback spoke to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInter1908.
Atalanta host Inter Milan in Serie A this weekend.
The match promises to be a hugely important one in the title race. And it could even be the decider as to where the destination of the Scudetto come the end of the season.
Atalanta are just three points behind Inter Milan. Meanwhile, Napoli are sandwiched between the two Lombard teams. In the top three places in the table.
La Dea really reasserted themselves as title contenders last Sunday. They thrashed Juventus 4-0 away, emphatically bouncing back from a couple disappointing recent draws.
One player who has really become a key man for Atalanta in his four seasons at the club is wingback Davide Zappacosta.
The 33-year-old has been a La Dea player since the summer of 2021.

And Zappacosta has remained a regular starter for the Bergamo-based side this season.
Zappacosta started against Juventus yesterday. And he got himself on the scoresheet in the 4-0 victory.
However, the Italian international noted that “I’ve played against Inter eleven times in the league.”
And the record speaks for itself: “I’ve never won, never scored a goal, or made an assist.”
“Maybe now’s the right time…”
Meanwhile, Zappacosta predicted that Federico Dimarco will be “a big miss” for Inter on Sunday.
“In the last few years he’s often made the difference.”
“However, part of Inter’s strength is that they have such a deep bench,” noted Zappacosta.
And the Atalanta wingback said that Inter are the best team “not just in the league, but also one of the three or four strongest teams in Europe.”
