Barcelona backup hailed for performance vs Leganés | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Saturday come in for widespread praise.

This comes owing to his exploits during Barca’s latest outing.

Hansi Flick’s troops are of course currently locked in action, in a La Liga meeting with relegation-battling Leganés in Spain’s capital.

The Blaugrana are currently in possession of a slender advantage, amid what has been something of a hit-and-miss performance to date.

As alluded to above, though, despite their side’s collective struggles, the Barcelona faithful have identified one member of Flick’s squad as being deserving of heavy praise.

After Alejandro Balde was forced off through injury late in the first-half, Gerard Martín was afforded his latest chance to impress off the bench.

And safe to say, this is an opportunity which the full-back has since taken full advantage of.

Martín played a crucial role in Barcelona’s opener in Madrid, courtesy of a superbly-timed challenge on the halfway line.

And the 23-year-old’s influence has since gone far beyond as much, culminating in deserved praise on the part of the Blaugrana’s fans.
