Barcelona ‘doing work’ on deal for Real Sociedad star | OneFootball

The brass at Barcelona have begun working towards a potential future deal for a member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga rivals Real Sociedad.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Álex Remiro as the player in question.

The subject of reinforcements between the posts has of course taken its place centre stage in the media headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of recent weeks.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that Barcelona are actively seeking out a new goalkeeper.

To date, Espanyol standout Joan García has been the player most persistently linked with the Blaugrana, the favourite option of Deco and co.

In the knowledge that a deal could prove difficult to come by with such a close rival, though, alternative profiles have also been identified.

And one such option, as per Sport, comes in the form of the aforementioned Remiro:

‘Work is being done on Álex Remiro. Catalunya Ràdio announced that Barça had sounded out a possible incorporation of Remiro. The truth is that there has been much more than contacts and Deco has personally assumed the beginning of negotiations.’

Blaugrana boss Hansi Flick, meanwhile, is understood to have given the green light to a move for Real Sociedad’s no.1.
