Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is preparing to represent Poland during the current international break, but his return to club duty will be swift.

If Barcelona’s fixture against Osasuna is confirmed for Thursday, March 27, the Polish forward will have little time to recover before resuming action for his club.

Fatigue after Atletico Madrid clash

Lewandowski has admitted that he barely had time to rest following Barcelona’s recent clash against Atletico Madrid.

After playing a crucial role in the match, the team arrived back in Barcelona at 3 a.m., and the forward struggled to get much sleep before an early morning flight.

“I didn’t sleep well after the game. We arrived back in Barcelona at 3 in the morning and when I got home I couldn’t sleep much.

“I had to fly early in the morning so I didn’t rest enough and I plan to make up for it today,” he began saying.

The Polish striker was instrumental in Barcelona’s remarkable comeback at the Metropolitano. When Atletico Madrid took a 2-0 lead, Lewandowski responded with a crucial strike that reignited Barça’s fightback.

His goal set the stage for a thrilling turnaround, with Barcelona eventually securing a victory that helped them stay at the top of La Liga with a game in hand.

“A game like this gives you a lot of morale, especially when you’re 2-0 down and then you score four goals and win.”

Confidence booster for the season

Lewandowski believes that the victory over Atletico Madrid will have a lasting impact on the team’s morale.

Overturning a two-goal deficit and scoring four times in a challenging away fixture is the kind of performance that strengthens confidence within the squad.

“This kind of win boosts self-confidence, especially when there are so many games left in the season. It gives you positive energy,” he added.

As he now shifts focus to his international duties with Poland, Lewandowski will need to manage his workload carefully to ensure he returns in top shape for Barcelona’s crucial upcoming matches.
