Barcelona identify new goalkeeper target | OneFootball

The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona have identified a new target, amid their ongoing search for goalkeeper reinforcements.

That’s according to Diario Sport, citing Relevo, who point towards Lucas Chevalier as the player in question.

Deco and the transfer team at Barcelona are widely understood to be on the hunt for fresh blood between the posts with a view to next season.

With Marc-André ter Stegen sidelined long-term, Wojciech Szczęsny only signed through the close of the campaign, and question marks remaining surrounding Iñaki Peña, Hansi Flick’s squad is viewed as being in need of a new top-class shot-stopper.

A number of options are understood to be under consideration on the part of the Blaugrana, with a new name, this weekend, having been added to the list.

As per Sport, the player in question comes in the form of Lille standout Lucas Chevalier.

Chevalier has long been making a name for himself as one of the standout goalkeepers in his home country of France, with his performances on the continent, too, beginning to turn heads.

Still just 22 years of age, the former French youth international has in turn joined the likes of Diogo Costa and Marcin Bułka on the watchlist at the Camp Nou.
