Barcelona monitoring 27-year-old Atalanta winger, but not a top priority – Report | OneFootball

Although their attack has been one of their biggest strengths this season, FC Barcelona are still looking to further strengthen this area of the team in the next summer transfer window.

The Blaugranes are looking to bring in greater depth for their attacking line of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal, and have already been linked with several exciting names for this purpose, including the likes of the Liverpool star Luis Diaz and the Athletic Club winger Nico Williams.

Another name that has now entered this list is that of the Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, who is currently one of the more exciting wingers in European football.

Mundo Deportivo reports that he is looking to leave the Italian club this summer and his greatest dream would be to play for Barcelona. However, the Catalans themselves are not seeing him as a priority candidate for now.

Lookman is only one year younger than Raphinha, but like the Brazilian, he also plays the best when deployed on the left wing and then moves inside from his wing position. A Nigerian international, he is the current holder of the African Footballer of the Year award, which he was awarded by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in 2024.

As things stand, he has only one year left on his contract with the Serie A side and can be signed for around €30 million. He is particularly keen to leave Atalanta after having been publicly criticized by his coach, Gan Piero Gasperini, for missing a penalty in a knock-out UEFA Champions League match.

Paris Saint Germain are also monitoring him, but his desire remains to don the blue and garnet jersey. The Barcelona Sporting Department does appreciate his quality, but he is not among the top priority candidates as they look to strengthen their wings ahead of the next season.
