Barcelona superstar Robert Lewandowski returned to the Catalan capital earlier today after finishing his international assignment with Poland.

The 36-year-old came back carrying a knock after being on the receiving end of a nasty tackle from Croatia’s goalkeeper during their UEFA Nations League match last night.

Naturally, there have been speculations about his fitness and physical condition, with reports even suggesting that Lewandowski’s availability for Sunday’s La Liga clash against Sevilla is under doubt.

Barcelona not worried

However, now, according to journalist Xavi Lemus, Barcelona are not at all worried about Lewandowski’s physical condition following his return from the national team camp.

The Catalans are aware that the striker sustained only a minor ‘hit’ and that he was able to complete the game against Croatia despite that.

As such, there are no major concerns at this point and the club’s medical staff will wait till tomorrow to take a look at the 36-year-old superstar, when the entire squad reconvenes for training.

This update is in line with an earlier report which claimed that there was ‘moderate optimism’ about Lewandowski’s condition and that the Poland national team’s medical team was confident he would be fine in time for Sunday’s game against Sevilla.

Lewandowski has been one of Barcelona’s best players so far this season and has already netted 12 goals in 11 matches across all competitions.

Considering the important matches coming up ahead for the Blaugrana, his availability will be pivotal for Hansi Flick & co.

But if the aforementioned report is to be believed, there does not seem to be any major concern about Lewandowski’s knock meaning he should be in a condition to feature against Sevilla.

However, it will be interesting to see if Flick opts to protect him knowing that Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are next up on the calendar.
