Barcelona owe more than €140 million to other clubs in unpaid transfer fees – report

While Barcelona’s financial situation is indeed improving and will take a turn for the better after the new deal with Nike, the club still finds itself considerably in debt.

The Blaugrana owe money to several clubs for transfers of players pioneered in recent years, some of whom are no longer at the club themselves.

SPORT brings to light the details of Barcelona’s debt in both the short and the long term as per the economic report on June 30th which totals €45 million in the short term and over €102.6 million in the long term.

The big fish

One of the players Barcelona faced the largest pending payments for is Robert Lewandowski who has started off the new season in some style.

They owe close to €10 million to Bayern Munich in both the short and long term respectively with other smaller payments due to his other former clubs including Warsaw Legia, Lech Poznan, Delta Warsaw, Znicz, MKS Warsaw and Borussia Dortmund.

Raphinha is another of the ‘big fish’ for whom Barcelona still owe significant sums that rough out to around €559,000 in the short term and €42 million in the long term. Further, small sums must be paid to Sporting CP, Stade de Rennais and Vitoria.

The third big player who arrived in the same summer is Jules Kounde for whom they are to pay Sevilla €24.5 million in the long term and smaller sums to Girondins and La Brede.

For Ferran Torres who arrived earlier from Manchester City, €13 million is owed in both the short and long term with a smaller amount to Valencia.

The minor payments

Beyond the regular starts, Barcelona also owe sums for Vitor Roque (€18.8 million to Athletico Paranaense), Gerard Martin (€75,000 to Cornella) and Unai Hernandez (€100,000 to Girona).

Of players who are no longer at the club, the Catalans also owe €900,000 for Emerson Royal to Real Betis, €600,000 to Junior Firpo and €183,000 to Osasuna for Ez Abde.
