Barcelona pair subjected to ‘tunnel of slaps’ during training | OneFootball

Two members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona were subjected to a traditional round of slaps during the club’s latest training session.

That’s according to Barca insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, who points towards Gavi and Andreas Christensen as the pair in question.

Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana are currently in the thick of final preparations for a return to action on Wednesday, when they will make the trip to Spain’s capital for a Copa del Rey semi-final 2nd-leg showdown with Atlético Madrid.

On Tuesday, the Catalans’ star-studded squad, in turn, were put through their customary paces at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

As alluded to above, though, prior to as much getting underway, a pair of Barcelona players were afforded some special treatment by their teammates.

The first was Andreas Christensen, who, as he closes on a return to competitive action for the first time since all the way back in August, was faced by the ‘tunnel of slaps’.

And following Christensen through was Gavi, albeit with the reasoning behind the midfielder’s reception remaining unclear.
