Barcelona star sits out training before Real Sociedad clash | OneFootball

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona played no part in group training with the rest of the club’s squad on Saturday.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Ansu Fati as the player in question.

Ansu, for his part, is of course in the midst of an altogether difficult stretch of the campaign, which has seen the Spaniard struggle to even secure a place for himself in the matchday plans of boss Hansi Flick.

This morning, though, his absence from group activities came for a different reason.

As per a report from Sport:

‘According to Barça sources, the attacker trained at La Masia has not taken to the pitch because of a feverish process.’

It now remains to be seen if Ansu is given the medical green light in time to take his place in Barca’s squad to face Real Sociedad tomorrow evening.

Even if cleared, though, there is no guarantee that the 22-year-old will be called up.
