Barcelona star speaks out on Ronald Araújo’s future after win over Real Betis | OneFootball

Barcelona star Gavi has this evening spoken out on the future of teammate Ronald Araújo.

This of course comes in the midst of a chaotic week, which has seen the name of the Uruguayan take its place front and centre in the transfer headlines.

Fresh off claims that Araújo has now come to the definitive decision to stay put, the defender featured from the off on Wednesday, in a Copa del Rey meeting with Real Betis.

And, en route to an eventual 5-1 Barcelona triumph, the 25-year-old enjoyed a fine outing.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle in Catalunya’s capital, though, it was the subject of his teammate’s future which was quickly put to Gavi once more.

And the young midfielder made use of the opportunity to urge calm across the Blaugrana fanbase, assuring:

“Araújo wants to stay at Barcelona, and I’m sure he will. People can relax! A lot of journalists have made up stories, but I always trusted what Ronald said.”
