Barcelona star tipped for international recall | OneFootball

A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga heavyweights Barcelona has this week been tipped for an imminent international recall.

The player in question? Iñigo Martínez.

Stopper Iñigo has of course played a starring role for Barcelona over the early weeks of the new campaign.

Across the Blaugrana’s ten outings in all competitions to date, the 33-year-old featured from the off in all but one, developing into something of an on-pitch leader in the process.

This past Tuesday, Iñigo even managed to chip in with a goal and an assist, en route to Barca’s Champions League drubbing of Young Boys.

And such endeavours, it would appear, have not gone unnoticed amongst the Spanish national team setup.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, Iñigo has been included on Luis de la Fuente’s preliminary squad list for Spain’s upcoming fixtures against Denmark and Serbia.

With Robin Le Normand ruled out, the Barcelona stalwart is in turn considered as being in with a strong shot at a La Roja recall.
