Bayern Munich will host Tottenham Hotspur at the Allianz Arena in the 2025 Telekom Cup during pre-season.
It’s the first fixture confirmed by Bayern as they go about preparing for their Bundesliga title defence. The game will be played on Thursday 7 August (6.30pm CEST), three weeks after the end of the FIFA Club World Cup, which the Bavarians are competing at from mid-June in the USA.
Vincent Kompany’s side will begin their league campaign on 22 August, having also contested the season-opening Supercup against the winners of the DFB Cup on 16 August.
It’s the second year running that Bayern will take on Spurs in pre-season. The pair met in Seoul last August as part of the Coupang Play Series, before a second game a week later in London. The Bundesliga side won both games, 2-1 and 3-2.
The last competitive encounter between the clubs came in the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League group stage, with Bayern recording a famous 7-2 win in London and then a 3-1 victory back in Munich en route to the title and historic sextuple.
Harry Kane scored in the former but has since swapped sides and been breaking records for Bayern. He was followed in January 2024 by Eric Dier, who is leaving Munich this summer. Mathys Tel has spent the second half of 2024/25 on loan at Spurs, who will take on Manchester United in the final of this season’s UEFA Europa League.
