Ben Jacobs details what Trevoh Chalobah did during Chelsea’s draw with Crystal Palace this month | OneFootball

Trevoh Chalobah was in the Chelsea dressing room after the draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park earlier this month according to reports.

The Blues have taken the decision to recall the 25-year-old from his loan spell with the Eagles to provide cover in defence given the injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile.

Chelsea hold an interest in Marc Guehi and are believed to have made contact over a potential move, but have taken the easier and cheaper decision with Chalobah.

Chalobah was in the Chelsea dressing room after Palace draw

It’s quite the turnaround for Chalobah after it was made clear to him in the summer he wasn’t part of the plans under Enzo Maresca.

The Cobham graduate wasn’t taken on the pre-season tour of America, whilst he was banished from the first team facilities and sent to train on his own.

Despite being recalled the expectation remains that Chalobah will leave the club in the summer, but reportedly both he and the club believe he can help the Blues for the rest of the season.

Chalobah is back at Chelsea six months after being sent on loan to Crystal Palace.

Ben Jacobs has provided some inside information on the situation and reported that Chalobah was in the Chelsea dressing room after the recent 1-1 draw with Palace.

He took to X.com and said:

“Chelsea believe Chalobah can help the team until the end of the season after closely monitoring his performances at Crystal Palace.

“And there is a belief Chalobah won’t need time to acclimatise like a new signing might. Chelsea and Chalobah still have a good relationship.

It will be interesting to see how often Chalobah plays, but he’s clearly been recalled with a view getting a  significant amount of playing time, and he could be thrown straight into the starting line-up against Wolves on Monday night.
