Federico Dimarco will miss this weekend’s Champions League clash between Feyenoord and Inter Milan after a muscle strain was confirmed.

The Nerazzurri confirm that the Italian international underwent medical tests today. These showed a strain to a muscle in his right thigh.

Inter Milan wingback Federico Dimarco picked up an injury during Saturday’s Serie A clash with Napoli.

The 27-year-old started the match. He was the scorer of the opening goal from a free kick in the first half.

However, Dimarco had to come off as a substitute a few minutes into the second half.

Dimarco later admitted that he had already been feeling some pain in his thigh. And he was unable to run it off, so he was forced off the pitch.

The scope of Dimarco’s injury was not initially certain.

However, the 27-year-old underwent tests with Inter’s medical staff today. And these confirmed that he has suffered a strain to the thigh flexor muscle in his right thigh.

The sense immediately after the match against Napoli was that this was the muscle affected.

And in the meantime, Dimarco will certainly miss Inter’s next match.

The Nerazzurri take on Feyenoord in the first leg of a Champions League round of sixteen tie on Wednesday.

And then that may not be all. Dimarco would also be in doubt for subsequent matches against Monza and Atalanta, as well as the second leg against Feyenoord.

Therefore, Inter are now in full-blown injury crisis mode. Matteo Darmian, Carlos Augusto, and Nicola Zalewski are all on the sidelines as well.
