Bundesliga defensive ace lands in Madrid amid Real Madrid transfer links – report | OneFootball

Real Madrid’s desire to shore up their options in the defensive unit has been well-documented lately.

The club have already roped in Bournemouth prodigy Dean Huijsen while the Trent Alexander-Arnold deal is also as good as done.

Real Madrid are also working on a deal to sign Benfica’s left-back Alvaro Carreras. But that won’t be the end of story for Los Blancos, who are targeting another centre-back for the summer.

Piero Hincapie is one of the names that have emerged as a potential target for Real Madrid, especially on the back of his success at Bayer Leverkusen and his synergy with coach Xabi Alonso.

Hincapie lands in Madrid

According to El Chiringuito,Hincapie has recently landed in Madrid which is curious amid speculation over his future.

The news outlet showcased a picture of Hincapie in Madrid, which comes at a time when the defender has been closely linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu.

The report adds that Hincapie has become a key defensive target for Real Madrid, with Los Blancos strongly considering the possibility of signing the Leverkusen starlet.

Alonso, for his part, has specifically requested the Real Madrid management to bring in the Ecuadorian international, whose aggression and versatility could make him an ideal addition to the Madrid setup.

With the likes of Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba not getting any younger, Hincapie could prove to be an ideal long-term investment for the club, alongside Dean Huijsen.

One would imagine Hincapie himself would be keen on a move to Real Madrid, as he looks to take the next step in his career.

However, acquiring the services of the defender could prove to be challenging, especially with the player having a long-term contract at Leverkusen.
