Inter star Hakan Calhanoglu hopes his compatriot Arda Guler will join the Nerazzurri: ‘He should go where he gets more playing time.’

Guler’s agents have reportedly held ‘positive’ talks with Serie A giants Inter, and Calhanoglu fuelled transfer speculation last night after Turkey’s 3-1 loss against Hungary.

“Arda Guler is a very important player, a brother I care a lot about,” said the Inter star via Gianluca Di Marzio.

“I’d love for him to come and play with us at Inter. My advice is that he should go where he gets more playing time, he deserves it.”

“Everyone wants quality players,” continued Calhanoglu.

“I don’t know how things are going for him at Real Madrid, so I don’t want to get too involved. I just hope he plays more because he deserves it.”

Inter are expected to sign at least one new striker in the 2025 summer transfer window, giving Simone Inzaghi quality backups for Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

Bologna’s Santiago Castro and Como’s Nico Paz have also been linked with a summer move to the Stadio Meazza.

Turkey coach Vincenzo Montella also praised Arda Guler last night, calling him a “special player.”

Arda Guler’s Real Madrid contract runs out in June 2029.

The 20-year-old talent has experienced a season of limited playing time in 2024-25. He has accumulated only 1,088 minutes across 30 appearances, mainly as a substitute, with three goals and five assists.
