Former Manchester United and Republic of Ireland star Roy Keane this week made use of the opportunity to take firm aim at Real Madrid transfer target Trent Alexander-Arnold.

This came owing to the Liverpool defender’s display in England’s Nations League meeting with Greece.

En route to a shock 2-1 defeat for the Three Lions last Thursday, Alexander-Arnold featured from the off in his customary berth at right-back, seeing out the 90 minutes at Wembley.

And one individual who was left less than impressed by the performance put forth by TAA, as alluded to above, was Roy Keane.

Speaking as part of his punditry role for ITV, one-time Manchester United captain Keane began:

“His decision-making and passing skills are fantastic but I can’t believe how bad he is defensively.”

In what was essentially a warning message to the aforementioned Real Madrid, amid ongoing speculation linking Alexander-Arnold with a free agent move to the Spanish capital next summer, Keane concluded.

“Against better teams he will be punished. If you saw him defending the other night… It seemed like he had never played right-back before!”
