AC Milan Futuro were unable to kickstart their year with a win against Athletic Carpi, as Daniele Bonera’s side remain in the bottom three.
With respect, the Futuro project is still yet to take off as Milan would have hoped it would, especially with the talent on display that Bonera has at his fingertips.
For this game, Maximilian Ibrahimovic was given a place on the bench by the head coach, with the starting eleven quite close to full strength: Lapo Nava, Emmanuele Sala, Mattia Liberali and Dia Sia all started, with Francesco Camarda, Kevin Zeroli and Alex Jimenez all with the first team.
After the narrow defeat to Virtus Entella, Bonera would have been hoping for a performance of similar quality, but his side could not get the job done, despite having a number of good chances.
The first half was dominated by the hosts, who had numerous decent opportunities, with the young Rossoneri team failing to threaten much in the early stages.
In the second half, things were better, but the outcome was not. Stalmach came close 15 minutes from time, with Magrassi also having a good attempt as the game closed out, but neither team could put themselves ahead, so had to settle for a point.
