Celtic FC – Scottish Cup Winners for the 34th time – 2007

CELTIC’S SCOTTISH CUP FINAL VICTORIES – Number 34…

CELTIC 1-0 DUNFERMLINE – HAMPDEN, 26 MAY 2007 – In what has to be described as a dreadfully poor game against already relegated Dunfermline Athletic, Celtic eventually crept over the line with a scrappy late goal from Cameroon International Jean Joel Perrier-Doumbe. It was Gordon Strachan’s first (and only) Scottish Cup as Manager, and it did complete a League and Cup double, and Celtic had now won the Scottish Cup for the 34th time.

Doumbe scores his one and only goal for Celtic and is the unlikely Celtic hero of the day. It’s Neil Lennon’s last game for Celtic and it’s first Scottish cup winners medals for Boruc, Perrier-Doumbe, McManus, Naylor,Nakamura, Caldwell, Venegoor of Hesselink, Miller, Riordan and Bjarnsson.

The 2007 Scottish Cup final was played the day after 40th anniversary of Celtic winning the European Cup in Lisbon.
