Charlton Athletic could be in for a busy transfer window this summer, especially if they win promotion to the Championship.

The Addicks have already secured a play-off place, and they are still in with a chance of achieving a top-two finish as things stand going into their game away against promotion rivals Wrexham this weekend.

We asked FLW's Charlton fan pundit, Emma Harknett, what a dream summer would look like for the club, and she unsurprisingly mentioned winning promotion back to the second tier, before also highlighting a few key areas that could be strengthened in the transfer window.

Keillor-Dunn would be a dream signing for Charlton

Emma picked out Barnsley star Davis Keillor-Dunn as a dream transfer target for Charlton this summer, while she also stated that keeping hold of forward Tyreece Campbell must be a priority.

"What would a dream summer transfer window look like? Obviously, if we do get promoted, we will need to make a few changes," Emma said.

"I would really like a young attacking midfielder, but I am not really sure who that is yet. Obviously, Luke Berry does have another year on his contract, but I think if we go to the Championship he would maybe be looking at being more of a bench player, where I think he would probably be able to make a better impact.

"Ideally, I would like another more experienced goalkeeper in the building, and I would really like a young striker. A lot of people have mentioned Keillor-Dunn at Barnsley. If we were to get promoted to the Championship, I can't see why we wouldn't be able to get a player like that.

"He has had an amazing season for Barnsley, but they are not going to reach the play-offs this year, so there is every chance we could go out and get him. Whether he will want to go higher than us, I do not know.

"They would be the key areas that I would like us to recruit for.

"As for retaining players, keeping Tyreece Campbell is going to be massive for us - I know there were teams already looking at him in January. Obviously, he is still under contract, but I think the club needs to be really, really tough and just bat off any interest in him.

"If we are going to be in the Championship next season then we really need to retain our talent, so getting him to stay and not selling him would be a massive thing for the club - as good as any new signing, really."

Keeping Campbell is key for Charlton

Tyreece Campbell has been key for Charlton this season, especially in recent months, with his pace, trickery and goal threat making him a handful for most defenders in League One. Even when he has not been on the scoresheet, he has made space for others due to having multiple players marking him.

The 21-year-old penned a new contract last summer, which will keep him at The Valley until the summer of 2026, although the club also holds an option to extend his deal by a further year.

He spoke about his impact this season in a recent interview with The Standard, during which he was asked whether he believes the club will be in the Championship next season.

"Yeah, I do," Campbell said.

"To play for Charlton in the Championship. I think I would do well."

Even if other clubs do come in with offers for Campbell, it would realistically take a significant fee to lure him away from SE7, and with it seeming as though he wants to play for the Addicks in the second tier, at least one part of Emma's summer dream could well come true.
