Cole Palmer has made a brilliant start to the season and the England international has picked up yet another award to add to his ever growing collection.

The 22-year-old picked up where he left off last season and already has six goals and five assists in seven Premier League games and was recently named Premier League Player of the Month for September.

The Blues will be hoping Palmer can repeat or even better his feats from last season and despite adding the likes of Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto and Joao Felix over the summer it still feels like the Englishman is Chelsea’s main man.

Palmer named PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month for September

Palmer’s start to the season has been great and he’s heavily contributed, but it seems at this early stage Chelsea won’t be as reliant on him this campaign, with the supporting cast showing they can step up and deliver.

The former Manchester City man’s form has seen him become a regular in the England set-up since making his debut last November.

Palmer was recently named England Player of the Year and started both games in the Nations League against Greece and Finland, but Danny Murphy believes he will be disappointed with his performances.

Any lingering disappointment Palmer may have felt from his England performances will likely have gone after he was named PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month for September.

The forward was up against stiff competition for the award in Luis Diaz, Erling Haaland, David Raya, Ollie Watkins and Gabriel.

Palmer had a great month and scored five goals and provided one assist, with four of those coming in the first half of Chelsea’s 4-2 win against Brighton.

Chelsea face a tough run of fixtures and will need Palmer at his best with their next four Premier League games Liverpool away, Newcastle at Home, Manchester United away and Arsenal at home.

It’s a tough run and we will no doubt find out a lot more about this team and what they are capable of achieving this season once these games are played.
